Ready for club use

Arbitre now provides all basic scorekeeping and timing functions needed for refereeing training bouts.

With the release of version 1.00.13, Arbitre introduces a bout history and an improved stopwatch. While in the previous version the score could only be incremented, the bout history offers the possibility to correct such decisions. The watch was previously set to a period of ten seconds to facilitate testing, now it is preconfigured for direct elimination bouts with three periods of three minutes with a one minute break in between. In case of equal score the bout may continue for an additional minute.

With these features Arbitre could theoretically be used at tournaments, however the recommended use is club-internal only. This is because the bouts are stored only in memory. They are not yet saved, so if the application is closed or the phone is turned off all data entered so far is lost. Obviously this would be unfortunate during a bout. In addition if a bout is closed and another one is opened the previous bouts stay in memory and there is no way of removing it yet, except for closing the application. This might not be an option when encountering an out-of-memory situation during a bout because it would be gone thereafter. However it is safely possible to switch between applications, using the menu key.

Download Arbitre now and support this project by providing feedback. Feel free to post your comments to one of the big fencing forums.
